A strap on is nothing more than a harness and a dildo. Strap ons are used to penetrate, obviously. So they are a must have if you and your partner want to try pegging or the bend over boyfriend. But I have to say, before you get a strap on and go all the way with a dildo; you will need to play with fingers or toys for a while until you are ready. It’s not a good idea to be penetrated by a dildo the first time you try anal play, it’s best to build up to it and experiment with smaller items first.
Strap on harnesses have an O-ring usually made in a stretchy material so it can fit around the dildo’s flared base. Ideally, this O-ring will be tight around the dildo. This means if you play with dildos on vastly different sizes, you will probably need to have several O-rings to fit each and every one of them. Be careful about your strap on though, because some have a permanent O-ring you can’t change, so in this case, your dildo will have to fit there and it should be tight enough to not fall off.
The best way to stimulate and bring prostate pleasure to your partner is by way of a dildo that curves towards the prostate. The angle will depend on the position; if you’re pegging from behind, the dildo will need to curve downward to hit the spot, just the same as you would with a woman if you are hitting the g-spot doggy style. Keep in mind the prostate is located bellow the bladder, behind the pubic bone, above the penis and surrounding the urethra.
Some strap ons don’t have any straps (I know, can you even call them strap ons?). These have the form of two sided dildos; the strap on toy will be inserted in the vagina and will curve around the pubic bone. This way you can penetrate your partner like you would normally. If you’ve doing your Kegel’s (which you should have!) and have strong pelvis muscles, the strapless strap on can be a great choice for you.
Just keep in mind harnesses usually have more stability when you’re thrusting with a strap on. The important thing before you use your strap on is the need to make sure the dildo is secured enough; otherwise it can fall if it can’t support or withhold the thrusting motions and movements. You will be moving around a lot and you want to be comfortable; besides, there’s nothing that kills the mood faster than the dildo falling off, so make sure yours is sufficiently tight. Tight, set, go!
