Some folks have latex allergies and if you have them, finding the right toys can be difficult. One solution I've heard is to use a compatible condom to cover the toy of your choice. In certain instances, however, a condom may not work properly (such as on a butt plug). For this reason, I offer several latex free silicone toys that may be used safely without fear of allergic reaction. They are easily located in my "Silicone / Allergy Free Toys" category. To find these and other silicone toys, you can also type "silicone" in my search engine at the top right of the site and it will display all the silicone items currently available for you. Choose the "Advanced Search" functions to help narrow your search to the categories you're interested in.

Using Sex Toys with a Latex Allergy

Ever since we opened, we've received questions and requests for our guests with latex allergies. Over the years, our offerings have grown from a few items to a very large selection, with something for everyone. Spicing things up in the bedroom when you have a latex allergy is now easier than ever. While silicone based adult toys were once very difficult to find; many adult manufacturers have now become sensitive to others “sensitivities” and have specifically created new toys with you in mind.

If you have a latex allergy, it’s always best to check with your doctor regarding what is going to work best for you and how severe your allergies might be. Once you have done this and have determined your comfort zone with specific types of toys, you're free to go wild! Here are few tips, hints and most importantly tricks!

Silicone Toys

Silicone is much more common in adult toys now and is a great option for people with latex allergies.  You should always be careful with anything you put inside your body.  Be wary of any toys or items with sharp points. Tissue in the vagina and anus is very sensitive and can easily tear. Use a good silicone based lubricant to avoid tearing of any of these tender tissues.
We have a large selection of silicone based toys specifically formulated for latex allergies here!

Other Types of Allergy-Safe Toys

We also offer a large selection of steel and glass toys that are not only allergy-friendly, but can be very unique as well. You don't have to sacrifice your kinkiness to your allergies! Find Steel Toys Here and Glass Toys Here.

Condoms

Always make sure that your condoms specifically state that they are latex free.  Some of the best brands are the Durex Avanti and the Trojan Supra.  They are made of polyurethane and specifically formulated for couples with latex allergies.  They tend to be more expensive than traditional condoms but the great news is that they work just as well. Again, an option is to cover non-silicone or other 'problem' toys with a latex-free condom, but be very careful the condom covers the toy completely, is not torn and will not slip off. Any non-hypoallergenic surface that becomes uncovered will trigger the allergy, so this may work with only a few kinds of toys.

Lubricants for a Latex Allergy

If you have sensitivity to latex or other rubber products, it’s best to use an oil based lubricant, such as a silicone lube.  Oil based lubricants are formulated differently and might not cause a reaction you might get from a water based lubricant. As an added benefit, silicone based lubricant is more slippery and for longer.  This means that you use more and get more for your money. Which literally adds up to more bang for your buck! Here are a couple to choose from:

Moist Silicone Spray Lubricant
Silicone Moist Shower Gel

If anytime after playing, you develop a rash or any uncomfortable sensation (other than walking funny!), always wash the affected area thoroughly with soap and water.

Always Clean your Toys

Remember, it's very important to clean your toys after every use! You can wash with antibacterial hand soap and hot water. For a safe and easy way to clean your toys, just a quick all over spray with Antibacterial Spray-On Toy Cleaner, makes clean up a snap! Also, some silicone based sex toys can even be put in the dishwasher, but make sure that you remove the batteries before submerging any battery operated toy and take them out of your dishwasher before you have company over. After all, you wouldn't want to make them too jealous. Okay, maybe you would…*wink*
