If you are interested in pony play, you may start to wonder what exactly you need to start playing. Well, to start with: a willing partner wink*. When that is sorted out, you need to figure out what is it you want to try. Because yes, there are several ways to “use” your pony wink*.
Basically there are three main categories of ponies to prepare for. The first ones are called “riding ponies”, and they are trained to be ridden either on two or four legs. They can even be ridden with a saddlebag if you prefer…or with a bare back, take your pick. The second category are the “show ponies”; they are trained to model equipment and to have elegant body postures. The last category is for the “cart ponies”; in this one, they are trained to pull carts for their “owner” or “trainer”, they can also do it on two or four legs. These categories can be mixed and matched, so your pony can be trained in several of them.
Now, what makes it even more interesting is the training methods will also go in the mix. So, for instance a forced pony play can be a cart and show pony at the same time, but it will be very different to someone who is participating in equine role play and is also a cart and show pony. The result is the same, but the experience will be completely different.
Although to practice pony play you don’t necessarily need toys and equipment, it definitely enhances the whole experience and it’s needed to create the right environment for the fantasy, especially if you find you really like to get into it. So, sorry to be the harbinger of terrible news, but the equipment you need to practice pony play it’s not the cheapest. Just like real life equines and equipment are costly, pony play it’s quite the same. To start with, leather cuffs and a bit gag are a good place and they are not expensive. If you try it and want to explore those activities, then go ahead and invest in more… practical equipment and toys.
But I should warn you to really investigate and figure out what exactly do you want and want to explore about pony play before making any big purchases. This will help you understand what exactly you do need to take your playtime one step further without going broke in the process (it’s possible, I promise!). Now go out there and have fun, hooo ya!
